How to distinguish between switch buttons and switches

1、 Mechanical switch:

1. Mechanical switch is the most common type of switch button, which uses mechanical principles to complete the action of switching. Mechanical switches typically consist of a button and a spring. When the button is pressed, the spring will contract, connecting the contacts of the switch and closing the circuit. When the button is released, the spring will rebound, causing the contacts of the switch to separate and the circuit to disconnect.

2. The advantages of mechanical switches are simple structure and reliable use. It is suitable for situations where circuit stability is not a high requirement, such as power switches and light switches in household appliances.

2、 Electronic switch:

1. Transistor switch is a type of switch that utilizes the switching characteristics of transistors to achieve on/off control of circuits. Transistor switches are divided into two types: NPN and PNP. When sufficient signal voltage is applied to the switch control terminal, the transistor will conduct, causing the circuit to close. Transistor switches are mainly used for circuit control of low voltage and low current, such as touch switches in electronic devices and keyboard switches in remote controls.

The advantages of transistor switches are fast response speed and high control accuracy. But it has high requirements for the power supply voltage of the circuit and is not suitable for high voltage and high current situations.

2. Relay switch is an electronic switch implemented using electromagnetic principles. It consists of two parts: coil and contact. When the coil is energized, the magnetic field generated attracts the contacts, causing the circuit to close. When the coil is powered off, the contacts return to their original position and the circuit is disconnected.

Relay switches are suitable for controlling high voltage and high current circuits, such as power switches in industrial equipment and horn switches in automobiles. Its advantages are strong load-bearing capacity, safety and reliability. However, due to the heating issue of the coil, the relay switch needs to pay attention to heat dissipation during long-term use.

3、 Touch switch:

1. Touch switch is a new type of switch button that uses capacitive or infrared sensors to detect human touch movements and control the on/off status of the circuit. The working principle of a touch switch is to sense touch operations through the capacitance or infrared reflection of the human body.

2. Touch switches are gradually being applied in home, commercial, and industrial settings, such as touch light switches in smart homes and automatic door switches in shopping malls. The advantage of a touch switch is that it is easy to use and does not require physical pressing. However, it has high requirements for environmental conditions, such as high or low humidity, which can affect the touch effect.
